MAZECON was a dream come true for all of us, but perhaps the artists of MazeCity wanted a little more time to show off their artwork. For that, MazeCity proudly presents ‘MazeArt’.

What is ‘MazeArt’?

It is a Fanart competition and it’ll be a great way to show off your skills. Artists can compete, compare, learn new things and improve their skills from this competition.
The upcoming competition will be conducted online. Instead of holding an official real event to feature the artwork, they will be featured online in both the MazeCity website and the Facebook group. The picture with the most number of ‘LIKES’ combined with the weighted scores from a panel of judges will be announced the winner. In case you’re wondering, the First place prize is…. ah well, let’s keep it a surprise!
MazeCity’s upcoming ‘Summer Party’ will feature a 'live' artwork competition. So, this contest will help you in learning new things and also help achieving a new level.

How to apply for ‘MazeArt’:
One can apply by comment on this note. For example: ‘I am applying for ‘MazeArt’, ‘I have submitted my work’ or simply ‘I want to apply’
All the participants’ names will be periodically updated end of this note each day. Example

Things you need to know about ‘MazeArt’:

1. A participant can submit only ONE artwork. So, make sure to submit the best one.

2. Artworks are to submitted by sending an email to the OFFICIAL mailing address of MAZECITY mentioned near the end of this post. Remember, your artwork won’t be accepted unless you notify us that you have applied for ‘MazeArt’ by commenting on this note. You may also notify us by commenting here after submitting your artwork.

3. I know it’s obvious, but the submitted drawing will have to be a Fanart of anything anime/manga related. We are accepting only sketches this time, so keep that in mind.

4. A subject/theme will be given and your art work will have to be based on that.

5. Registration for ‘MazeArt’ will open from 27th February at 01.00 am  and will be closed on 5th March 8 pm. Make sure to apply before time runs out.

6. Subject for drawing will be given on 28th February 12.00 am and due date of submission is 5th March 11.59 pm. Applicants can submit their work within this time period by sending their work in the email address given at the bottom. Results will be announced on 8th March around 7 pm.

7. Anyone in the MazeCity group can join in this competition, including staff members.

8. Half the scores would be taken from the number of likes in the picture and the other half would be awarded by the Admins. Score = (Number of Likes of the art / Number of Likes of the most Liked art)x10 + (Average score given by the admins out of 10)

9. Do not upload your art anywhere else after sending us the mail, as MAZECITY will upload it in a special Album where people can like/comment on it. We will post link of the Special Album as soon as the contest kicks off.

10. Unrelated and spam posts will be deleted on sight and also make sure you know the difference between criticism and insult while commenting on submitted artwork.

11. While submitting, please describe how your picture is portraying the theme Independence/Freedom. Heart-touching stories/description might win extra votes for your drawing.

Fan Art Theme :

With the month of the International Mother Language Day coming to an end, we enter the month of our Independence Day.
Like always, we salute the brave warriors who sacrificed their lives just so we could escape the clutch of injustice and oppression, just so that we can be here today. Once you realize just how grand the sacrifice was, freedom tastes better than never before.
'What does Independence mean to you?' Answer this question on your canvas, through a picture.
Make sure that the feelings you put from your heart onto the paper reaches the viewer's heart as well.
Of course, we don't want a cultural mix-up so avoid anything patriotic in your picture (like an anime character holding a flag). The theme is 'freedom' and not something Bangladeshi.
This is the best way to show your potent creativity! So what are you waiting for?

Hints/Explanation of Theme:
Just to make things clearer...The art style has to be Japanese, the set and characters can be unique or from existing Anime or Manga etc. About the theme, the artwork have to symbolize Freedom 'or' Independent-sens... like it can be a character enjoying freedom on a sunny day or it can be a guy trying to break free from chains/captivity... or someone standing at the top of the mountain enjoying breeze or acting carefree... just use your imagination.
